it’s about giving back in the name of the Stash

Movember really snuck up on us this year, even more than most, but we will once again be supporting Movember and growing the MO and financially supporting our local MO team with our Karma Tap*. $1 per pint purchased during the month of November will go to our local MO team to benefit Movember. The main priority of Movember is and always has been to help men to live longer, healthier, happier lives.

The first shave by our team Captain, C.J. Covarrubias happened on Nov 1st. Now it is all about the hair and funds that grow in Movember. We asked CJ what was on his mind and motivating him this year. He shared a very personal story that has motivated him for multiple years of continued participation with one of his best friends.

CJ: “Todd Franzen, who I've known for more than half of my life has been in an extended fight with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.  Right around 10 years after his initial battle the doctors found that there was a recurrence, just yesterday he went through what will hopefully be the final step in his treatment, that started close to a year ago.  If you're interested in more of his story, he's actually written a book called The Internal Architect and keeps a YouTube channel updated on his status and treatments, with the intention of helping others currently fighting cancer.  Truly and inspiration.”

Again, this year at Draughtmsen in Goleta and downtown Santa Barbara at Mosaic Locale we will be supporting our Movember team "DA Mo's" for the month of November.  If you’re in the neighborhood come on over and enjoy a pint of Cereal Killer Pale Ale (gluten-reduced), our Karma Tap beer this month.

*What’s the Draughtsmen Karma Tap?

We choose one beer per month that will support a local not-for-profit by giving $1 per pint purchased back to that local organization. Our culture and social mission at Draughtsmen compels us to use the brewery in innovative ways to make our own local community a better place. We think culture isn’t about what you say; it’s about what you do. We could all use a little good karma right now!
