Curiosity, Creativity + Community.

Our brewery is the creative expression and passionate work of five friends who seek to make some of the best beverages we can while mustering up as much fun as possible along the way. Our journey into the world of craft beer was built on friendship. We have witnessed the power this craft has had to bring people together and connect our community.

Community is the foundation of our business.  Breweries dating back to colonial America were gathering places where people would strengthen relationships, discuss ideas and promote community agendas. This has not changed. We aim to build our community by providing quality craft beverages that bring people together and tasting rooms that foster local engagement.

Draughtsmen is a craft brewery located in Goleta, California with a taproom in Goleta and one in Santa Barbara. We started in 2015 as specializing in small batch beers. Our goals, products and community have expanded to produce our favorite beers, ferment some amazing wine and cider and brew a variety of hopped teas. Above all else we have created a community with good people while inspiring positive change.

The brilliant thing about beer is that it brings people together. Brewing beer is where we started Draughtsmen and still maintains the core part of what we do. Ultimately, we try and achieve a balanced flavor profile for each beer that we brew. We have grown our beer offerings from a list of core beers, to creating a broad selection of approachable beers and specialty bottle-aged gems.

The same team brewing up beers are experimenting with cider fermentation and blending teas and spices into our ciders. We are thrilled to be collaborating with one of our team members who is really a brewer disguised as a beer-tender. It’s a new and exciting frontier.

WINE.

We are blurring the lines between grapes and grains. In past years, there were wine drinkers and beer drinkers. However, lines are being crossed, and so too are loyalties to any one beverage. We know you can be both a wine and beer drinker. In the spirit of collaboration and wine-loving fun we partnered with our friend Brian McKinnon, Draughtsmen Aleworks Lifetime Member, software engineer, father of three and winemaker for the past 15 years. Brian loves to geek out on fermentation, learning and building his knowledge base and making improvements year after year.

Draughtsmen Wineworks was born and our wine is called Star Pine Cellars. We use locally grown fruit and work together through the harvest and fermentation process. Star Pine Cellars is an evolution from wine-making with family and friends, to sharing the love and joy of approachable, unpretentious wine with the local community.

HOP TEA.

Our Hopped tea project was founded on the principle of collaboration in creating a refreshing non alcoholic alternative beverage to beer. It is a collaborative partnership with a local company called Teeccino (tea partner, Galen Macdougall) and Draughtsmen. Our hopped tea team dreamed up all things tea and beer. Teeccino has a deep background in organic tea sources, herbs and their commitment to organic certification that has made a big difference in the lives of the people who grow and harvest the organic herbs. We personally think that is pretty cool. Galen has a passion for homebrewing beer so we have lots of common ground for making some extremely good things. Our goal is to mimic the craft beer experience with a cold refreshing and bubbly familiarity. We brewed tea like beer, with the hops! No sugars, additives or any fermentation. All natural. Simple and refreshing.
